Dialogue on Financial Sector in North Africa – ADB
AMEF Consulting had been invited to the dialogue event on “The integration and development of the financial sector in North Africa”, organized by the African Development Bank, in collaboration with the Making Finance Work for Africa (MFW4A).
This dialogue meeting was held in Tunis, on February 27th and 28th, 2019, and was the last stage of a series of 4 regional events that took place for the first time in Abidjan (Ivory Coast) for West Africa, then in Nairobi (Kenya) for East Africa and subsequently in Libreville (Gabon) for Central Africa.
This last Tunisian stage offered to the national financial institutions and development finance agencies a discussion framework that would allow for a mutual understanding of needs and a better appreciation of the type of support to be given to the development of the financial sector in North Africa.
The recommendations and priority actions, resulting from this meeting, will help to define the strategies of the development partners for the financial sector and in particular for the African Development Bank. The 2014-2019 financial sector development policy and strategy of ADB can be found on its website through this following link: https://www.afdb.org/en/news-and-events/afdb-board-approves-financial-sector-development-policy-and-strategy -2014-2019-13677 /.
During this event, AMEF Consulting actively contributed to the exchanges by sharing its vision on the challenges and development axes of the financial sector in North Africa on the basis of its experiences and studies developed in contact with its clients and financial partners .
We thank very much the ADB and MFW4A for giving us the opportunity to participate in this high-level dialogue, to which several heads of ministry departments, Central Banks and financial institutions from the 6 North African countries (Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Mauritania and Tunisia) did participate.
