Mongi Ben Tkhayat
International Banking and Leasing Expert
As Founder and Managing Partner of AMEF Consulting since 2010, Mongi Ben Tkhayat is responsible for the strategic development and management of the firm’s activities. He also works on consulting and training assignments as a Team Leader or Expert in banking, leasing, VSME financing and risk management.
He has accompanied several banks and leasing companies in Africa on different projects such as:
- Defining and implementing funding strategies for VSMEs and green projects
- Strengthening risk management mechanisms
- Reviewing and improving funding processes
Mongi Ben Tkhayat also has experience in the governance of financial institutions in Africa, including his work as an independent director and chair of audit and risk committees at the following banks and firms: Banque de l’Habitat (Tunisie), Banque de Financement des Petites et Moyennes Entreprises (Tunisie), Tunisie Factoring (Tunisie), Alios Finance (Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroun et Gabon) and TUNINVEST SICAR (Tunisie).
Prior to founding AMEF Consulting, Mongi Ben Tkhayat held management positions in African financial institutions for fifteen years. His previous positions include Head of the Pan-African group Alios Finance that operates in several sub-Saharan African countries and specializes in the financing of VSMEs (2005 – 2010), Managing Director of Union Tunisienne de Leasing (UTL) a subsidiary of Union Bancaire pour le Commerce et l’Industrie (UBCI – BNP Paribas Group) (2000 – 2004) and Relationship Manager and Internal Auditor at UBCI (1995-1999).
Mongi Ben Tkhayat is a graduate of the École Centrale de Lyon and holds a master’s degree from the National Higher School of Aeronautics and Space in Toulouse. He received further training in business management at the EM Lyon Business School.
